The Adapter is a hefty gasket made of a special High-Temp Silicone material that is very durable. The unique design allows the base to remain tightly secured to the ceramic dome.

If the adapter gets dirty it can easily be removed for cleaning and re-used again and again. It fits both the Small and Mini-Max Big Green Egg ® because they have the same size chimney.
