Hot. This Smokeware Chimney Cap is made of Stainless Steel and will become hot once the grill is heated. Do not touch any part of the metal once the grill is heated, use the rubber tab, a high temperature approved glove or a cooking utensil to adjust the vent setting.

Great chimney accessory!

Very high quality chimney cap. The metal is excellently formed and beautifully finished. It fits my Kamado Joe perfectly (but if you have the BGE, be sure you get the right version - these caps are specifically designed for each grill type). The ventillation cutouts are big enough to allow full airflow and shutting them down seals tightly enough to snuff out the fire. Another benefit is the cap is very lightweight so it reduces the overall heaviness of the top lid (but the cap does not feel "cheap" in any way). Completely satisfied!

Great upgrade vs daisy when style. Easy to adjust temps with this cap and keeps rain out. Great upgrade!

More an upgrade than a replacement

This is a perfect replacement for the control tower supplied with the original Kamado. It is very easy to use, fairly easy to clean and is much smarter than the original, making the Kamado appear even more distinguished.
